Went to the Yacht Club today for tea/dinner with my mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle, grandma and another aunt. Why so many people you ask? Discussing my grandpa's giant birthday celebration of course.
Later I went down to the jeti place with my aunt and camera xD I "killed" a barnacle and saw some fishies. ->
lovely rsyc.
photo i took. nice? look at the sunlight on the right..
the deaded barnacle is the blobby thing.

Later... my dad decided to shave Teddy. Wefigured that its actually possible with the shaver thing.
Teddy ended up like this. So far. My dad's going to finish it soon. I hope. Aunty Beth said she'll be embarrassed to bring him out for walks. Not hard to see why.
Teddy's fur ends up like this...
but Teddy doesn't seem to mind. xD In fact, he was running around happily. Really happily.
Yeps. *hugs*

{[this post is for yesterday]}
16th Feb
Taffy got sterilized today at Vet Practice Pte Ltd. Then my dad brought us to the wet market (against our will!) where Nat and I decided to wait for him in the car while listening to the radio. He took about half an hour. My mom called and told me that my tuition teacher was already at my house. (I was still having the darn headache) Got home, had tuition. I taught lao shi that a person who writes poems is called a POET and not a POEMIST, and how to spell "poem" instead of "peom". xD Quite funny.

Nat spat on my dad who got really angry, then she ran away, and came back.

Picked Taffy up at 6. Got there, waited... waited..., no one at the reception, then my dad WENT INTO THE ROOM (the wooden one with a big glass window. that NO ONE goes into without asking/permission), the surgeon guy told him to wait, I saw the reception lady/surgeon and she told me to wait, then my dad asked the surgeon guy again and he asked him to wait. Meanwhile, there are all these other patients being attended to while we're still WAITING. They didn't even tell us WHY we had to wait. They just said "wait". (!!!) hmph.

Taffy finally came home. He didn't attempt to jump out of the box and was tamer than before. Probably the anesthesia. Apparently because of all the mats in his fur, we have to get it all chopped of. :( He'll feel cooler after that I guess.

Kris Jie was left alone at home so she came over.

My dad went to Robinsons with $40 worth of vouchers. Bought a shaving kit for Teddy. I think he bought it so that he could use it for himself. Because Teddy's fur is too fine (its like strands of silk) and long to use a shaver on. It didn't cut properly.
(can't remember anything else)

Happy belated Valentine's Day!!! (:
Valentine's Day morning at school...
Filled with hugs, songs and gifts. Temperature taking. The bookshop sold out thermometres. Made little cards for people. (: Can't remember anything after that.
Today I had a fever 37.8C in the morning. Mom told me to still go to school. Did TD performance, screwed it up a bit :( Went for science in the lab, went home by bus, slept, woke up, saw Teddy dreaming, slept, woke up again and again. Had lunch. Something something. Forgot again. Slept a bit. Dad brought me to the doctor. Dr Lim was having her third child, so she wasn't there. There was another doctor there, an old guy. It was really quick. 5 minutes in the consultation room and I was done. Then my dad decided to go to Cold Storage. I spent a few agonising moments there with the dent in my skull hurting every few seconds before finally going home.
Watched tv to get my mind off the pain (even though I took a painkiller already). Tyra Show. They were talking about the dangers of plastic surgery. So beware!!! There are many unqualified plastic surgeons out there! And anything can go wrong! There were so many plastic surgery patients who got scars and wounds, both physical and emotional. They were really sad to see :(
Hope I get better soon. (:

Total Defence performance postponed to Friday.
Nat is in deep poo now. She went all tantrum-y and "ran away" to the concrete-footballarea-basketball-badmintonarea place. She got all emotional about TWO MATH PROBLEM SUMS. Now she's got 4 unhappy coins. I got happy coins =D She later went to the petrol station (and got chips and juice) with my dad. No fair. But I get happy coins anyway (:
Cell today ROCKED. Charmaine hit her head on the stairs while trying to bonk my head (and got a bit dizzy and stuff) so she didn't come. We called her before cell started. I love ScCell'10. We rock like diamonds and more. Thank you Hannah for letting me rip your cd! I'm listening to it now xD We used Youtube to get nice songs and Hannah's ipod nano too. (:
Math tuition was boring. Again. Started falling asleep. Again. 2 hours of math.
I love my happy bottle! xD

Science test was not so bad. Got a few questions wrong though. Most likely a pass.
Chinese test. Very bad. I hardly finished more than 60% of it. Then I got hiccups halfway through the test. How helpful.
Total defence was ok. Hopefully our performance tomorrow won't be screwed up. Hopefully.
Mom is now using the reward system. For every good thing I do, I get something in my "Happy Bottle", for every bad thing I do, I get something in my "Not so Happy Bottle". At the end of the day/week, we get a reward or punishment accordingly in the form of tv time or $$$. Hope I'll be able to be a guai kia.
Ah Gong's birthday celebration is coming up. I'm doing reception and helping with souveniors. The planning is quite disorganised. The venue was only decided today, and we still need to do everything else. Its cool, 80th birthday, 80 guests.

My reward bottles! Self-decorated! xD
*hugs*

Today is my dad's birthday, Jean's birthday and Alexandra's birthday. Cool eh?
Did the "contour line" drawing today- drawing someone's (rather inaccurate) portrait using one line only, not lifting the pen off the paper. My attempts are horrible but nevermind, its abstract! xP The rest was boring-ish.
Had Total Defence practice after school. Normal. We're performing on Wednesday (Total Defence Day) in front of both the primary and secondary schools. Hope we won't mess up. Another rehearsal tomorrow.
Came home and saved the cake my sis was baking for my dad. Nat was smart enough to forget to sieve the flour so there were nice lumps inside the batter. I saved them by using the electric whisk (and my brains =P). Mom was trying to get Nat to do her homework so I just finished the batter for her AND finished my homework! Omgoodness I'm so happy. I did so much homework today... and didn't study for tomorrow's Science test. o.o Uh oh.
Went for a walk with Jie and when I came back Aunty Lynn and Uncle Jerry were here to celebrate my dad's birthday. We had birthday noodles, Nat's (and my!) cake, decorated ice cream by yours truly. xP
And now I'm here. Determined to pass tomorrow's tests and post photos.

DDR with Kris Jie was fun!!! But I'm really bad at it. Jie was doing it at "pro" mode and got a B. I did it at "easy" mode with a super slow song and got a C. *sniff* I WILL improve Jie! I WILL. Thanks for inviting me over! =D
Went to Aunt's place at East Coast. Super nice. Its like WAY up up up, like almost the top level. From there you can see all the boats and jeti and stuff. Quite weird though. The further away you are from the window, the bigger the boats look. The closer you are to the window, the smaller the boats look. We fried the fish shaped nian gao with egg (YUM). Couldn't finish it though, it was too much. Went swimming and I tried wearing my orange noseclip (we FINALLY found it). I looked really weird but who cares, I'm underwater anyway. Went to the diving pool (4.1 metres) too. I'm not really good at jumping off those board things, too paranoid. My sister was fearless. Did a handstand on the edge of the pool/board and just leaned back to flip in. I tried it once on the edge of the diving pool, but landed flat on my back. ouch. Later we had bee hoon for dinner then took a walk down to the jeti. People there were catching little fishies, those nasi lemak type. One lady caught two of them in like, 10 minutes. A police coast guard boat stopped by for a while then drove off. Just as we were leaving, a police car came along with an ambnulance. The police car drove along the jetty with two paramedics jogging behind. Then it came back again... with the giggling paramedics trailing behind. We think they went to the wrong jeti. LOL. Now that I think about it... its quite funny.
Yay! Charmaine is back from Japan! =D
Apparently I'm of very very very very very x 100 distantly related to royalty. My great great great great great x 1000 grandfather was XuanYuan, an "Emporer Huangdi". I love my mom's side of the family. I know so many of my relatives, and I know that I have A LOT of relatives. From my great grandfather alone there are 59 of us, and my great grandfather has 6 siblings. Imgaine, 7 kids, each kid has approximately 60 children... 7 x 60 = 420 wow... I have about 420 known living relatives right now... then of course there are my great great grandfather's siblings and my great great great grandfather's siblings and... you know. THAT'S SO COOL. I will read all three family books by the time I'm 20! I WILL.
Anyway, I'm tired. Night!
*hugs*

Today was quite fun. =D
Had the leftover steamboat for lunch. Aunty Beth and I were "fishing" for our food from the pot over the stove. Steamboat is HEALTHY, and it tastes really nice with lemon chilli sauce and soya sauce. xDDD
Aunty Peck Choo, Amelia, Aunty Mei Fen and her son Nicholas came around 4pm to visit Mommy. Amelia, Nat and I went to the playground to play catching and talk. =D Catching is GOOD EXCERCISE. I need to play with the little kids more. Then I can get more excercise. I need to increase my stamina. If not- NAPFA, I'll sure mati. They talked about going to China(and leaving the kids behind *sniff*) around August. After my birthday and before Nat's. Aunty Peck Choo and Aunty Mei Fen are the most interesting (in a good way) adults I know! They are soooo super nice and... uh... cool-ish! Being around them is always interesting/fun! Amelia showed us this website where you can get movies and shows. Thanks Amelia! http://www.tvliveshows.com
Uncle Victor (Mommy's former colleague) came to visit after that.
For dinner we used the jaffle maker (go google it) to "barbeque" some strips of beef steak. Omgoodness it was so uber delicious. It was "good quality meat" so even though we only put a bit/no salt, it still tasted like beef/hamburger patty! xD
And now... well, I'm sitting here on the bed with Nat and Mommy reading a book and munching. Oh wells, byee!
*hugs*
Dedication Post to Kristen Jie
Thank you Jie for... you know... on Wednesday when you came over and scolded *anonomous to protect identity of person* for being emo and putting it out on everyone. (no, *name*, I am not blackmailing or gossiping about you) Jie, you're the best! Thanks for letting me walk with you and tell you stuff. Thanks for everything! The list of all you've done goes on and on. We must remember to go out! haha. =D Love you Jie!
Happy CNY!!! (again) Went visiting today! Let me tell you about my day...
Woke up. Washed up. Changed into long red skirt (actually a dress that I wore as a skirt) and couldn't find a plain white top. Changed a few times. Found out that there are no cheong sams that fit me. Ended up with the red skirt and polo-looking white shirt, my mom's red/black earrings.
Went to grandparents' house for lunch with grand aunt, grand uncle, another grand aunt, another gran uncle, my uncle (whose about... 10?), my other uncle, my aunt, Meiyin (cousin), grandma, grandpa. Had chicken porridge, koropoke aka fish/prawn crackers, mini char siew pao, very nice carrot cake, not as nice sesame-tasting nian gao, sticky sweet nian gou. Then we went behind the row of plants in the garden and climbed down the slope to see... wild flower-weed things and uh... the drain? It was quite hard since Nat had high heels, Meiyin had jeans and I had well, the skirt. Got a teeensy bit soil-y after that. I was afraid that there would be a snake waiting to ambush us in the bushes. Of course no snake came to attack us *phew*.
Went visiting to Aunty Helen's house near 6th Avenue. She's very very nice and 89 years old this year. Catholic. She is related to me... uh... somehow. I was searching through all three family books and couldn't find her name anywhere. Oh wells. I am determined to find out how Emperor Huangdi (circa 2697-2597 BC) is related to me. The family tree is so... confusing. I have so many distant cousins who I have never met before. Yet again, I hardly know the other side of my family- But that's a completely different story. I shall stop digressing and get back to today's (more like yesterday's) events.
After that we went to Uncle Frankie and Aunty Iris's house. He's related as... my great grand uncle's grandson. Also sort of near 6th avenue. Its on a hill and its quite big. We snacked and watched Animal Planet while the adults talked. Mythbusters, Up Close and Dangerous and some others. Fun xD And Meiyin found her love for mochi. =D
Then on to Aunty Lina's house! She is my... great grand uncle's daughter. We always look forward to going there because 1) Its the last house we visit 2) She always has really nice goodies for us to eat 3) Their (refering to Aunty Lina and her son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandsons) corgi called Toby. Toby has really sharp claws and when he jumps/jumped (yes, last year too) on me, I get a lovely pink line on my leg. He drools and sheds a lot too. Last year we didn't see Uncle Tony and the rest, just Lina. But this year we saw all of them (except one grandson). Yeah.
Then home and time for steamboat dinner to celebrate Ah Gong's birthday. Turned 78/79 on CNY. Uber cool. My drunk grand uncle was there too. So it was sorta scary. He kept asking the same questions and talking really loudly. I didn't know he was a drunkard so I was quite confused. Some parts of the night were funny. Ah Gong walked into the kitchen and saw the birthday cake. Asked "Birthday cake ah?" "Ya" "Oh, whose birthday?" "Yours" "Oh". Haha, he forgot his own birthday. But he's quite nice. The steamboat was really good. Too much food though. I guess we'll e having steamboat for a while. I have decided that steamboat and pancakes are the appropriate healthy meal. Also found out that GREEN TEA REDUCES YOUR BONE DENSITY because its so liang, cooling. So too much green tea is bad. Steamboat because of all the fresh food, veggies and stuff that go inside it, and there's hardly any seasoning involved, so less salt content. Pancakes because they have - flour (carbohydrates), milk (calcium), eggs (some nutrients), whatever fruit/ jam you put on it (vitamins). Yeah.
Jie, I'm becoming quite accident prone too. o.o I fell down at the kerb while carrying Teddy (who trotted away, not even bothering about me) and grazed both knees. *sniff*
Nighty nights. I recieved so many ang baos today! xD Won't say how much. =#
My grandpa's birthday cake. He's sitting on the chair in the background.

Today is Lunar New Year's eve! Going to grandfather's house for dinner. And tomorrow is my other grandfather's birthday! Haha, my grandma inveited FIFTY people to his 80th birthday celebration. O.O
YuanJun is angry at me I think... are you? Sorry I don't want to be your jiejie, but I'm not exactly close to you. So please CHILL.
Question directed to all guys: Are all/most guys sensitive? As in like, if someone jokingly calls a guy ugly, will he actually take it to heart? Yeah. Attepmting tounderstand the male mind. Not really succeeding though.
Made pancakes today!!! Omgoodness they were actually PROPER PANCAKES this time! Even better than yesterday!!! *happyyy* Then I tried my yummy pancakes with Nutella. Mmmm!!! Uber yummy! My mommy and daddy said they're yummy too! (post pictures soon)
We had porridge, abalone mushrooms (YUMM) and baby corn! So uber yummy!!! Then she went to get CUP NOODLES. What type of personeats cup noodles for lunch when there's something much nicer available?! Every now and again she'll decide that she doesn'tlike some foods. Today she said she doesn't like eggs and baby corn. Who cannot like eggs and baby corn?! argh. And the other time she was making omelets with weird ingredients, ate it , said it was nice and triedto FORCE me to eat it. ...
Today is pancake day! (http://www.welovepancakes.com/) =D I made nice nice pancakes! (none for yj!) So happy!!! They actually tasted nice! Just that they were a bit odd... One side looks like pancake, the other side looks like roti prata. Really!! No kidding!! I will prove it to you!

One side is pancake...

The other is roti prata. o.o

My uh... "workstation".

Jasmine won the orange eating competition!!! 4 1/2 oranges!!! GO JASMINE!!! (I didn't know she had the capacity for FOUR AND A HALF oranges)
We didn't win classroom deco competition though. :( GR won. Congrats to 2GR people!
After school I had the Total Defence performance rehearsal. By the time I reached home it was like... 3.30 (tuition started at 3) And my mommy was home! Her foot is still just a lot of bandage and the doctor said it would take about 6 weeks to heal. My mommy has crutches now! They're a bit difficult to use for her (though i find them fun to play with).
Went out with Kris Jie again today (: Thanks Jie! Freedommm
lalala lala...
Oh yes, cousin Avery went to Malaysia today. Sent me a byebye sms. And Thomas *gak*cough*splutter*choke* sent me a random New Year sms just now. After months of no communication.
Happy Lunar New Year to all!

Monday, February 4, 2008

Just came back from Mt Alvernion. My mommy had just come out from the operation. She was quite sleepy, sounded like she had a sorethroat and couldn't move so much (anesthesia made her sorta weak.). She's having physio therapy and a bone density test. Apparently her bones are quite brittle. (if you've seen her you would know) =/ She's discharged tomorrow. Gonna get crutches.
Mt Alvernion is a bit hard to navigate around. Its like... we went in to the 24hour clinic and couldn't find the lift. Then when we did find the lift and get to the 4th floor, it was like... one door was for the cardio surgery thing, then the other door was for critical care or something along those lines. We were supposed to go to the St Josephs ward. Then later we realised that we had to go throught the critical care door then to the St Josephs ward. Poor Mommy, she was asking for painkiller (weakly) and asked what her foot looked like. Its like... a very thickly bandaged foot. Nat bought flowers for her. Pretty white and pink ones. ($6)
Tuition tomorrow 3pm.
*sniff* Yesterday I told you that my mommy sprained her foot right? Well, it was a fracture. When I came home from school today (today is CNY class deco judging!), my mom was sitting in bed with her foot bandaged up and my grandma was there talking to her. Saw her foot xrays. Its fractured on the 3 middle bones after the toes and just before the ankle. They're cracked. =(
Pwease pray that she won't have any complications (especially anesthetic awareness) and that she'll come home safely tomorrow.
Dear Lord, please keep my mommy safe during her time in hospital. I pray that the operation and post operation will go smoothly too. Please bring her home safely tomorrow. Thank you for letting it just be her foot that was fractured and not her spine or anything like that. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen.

You see the long straight bones there just before the big cuboid bone? yeah.
):
I hope Mommy's ok.
Tomorrow we have classes til 12. CNY celebrations. Our class gets to wear PE uniform! xD
Thanks all. (:
2SE YOU ROCK!
*hugs to all* (Support the free hugs campaign pwease. Its not offensive and/or disruptive!)

My mom and sis just came home. It was raining and my mom slipped and sprained her foot.
My sis went to get a packet of cold flour and a frozen cuboid made out of water, blue food colouring, chopped asparagus and chopped celery, she also brought the whole ice tray upstairs. I went to get an ice pack and tiger balm. Yes, she's more creative, but also less practical.
I'm obsessed with this song at the moment. But its a song that I'm going to keep a secret. Not because its sick or gross or wrong, but because sometimes it can be nice to have a song that's not so well known. It feels more... personal. *cough*
I attepmted to make pancakes yesterday. I was dumb enough to forget that we didn't have a nonstick pan. (ours is a big one, i think pancakes use a smaller one) So my first pancake was a disaster... and so were the others. My last one was the best! Sadly, only AFTER all the pancakes were done did I realised they were all undercooked. Now I know. Pancakes must be cooked for at least ONE MINUTE on the first side, the pan must be shallow so that the pancakes can be taken out easily and the spatula must be wide enough to flip them*sigh*
Helped out at 10.30 communion Sunday children's program. Quite fun. Megan (P6 one) wasn't there though. Her mom said something about a party that she had to go to. There was this little girl who lost her red bag. She was holding my hand, so cute!!

My pile of undercooked and burnt pancakes!

My best pancake. Still a bit undercooked too. =(

Mini papaya from our garden tree. (:

OMGOODNESS SO FUNNYYY
Jiayu's (my neighbour) dad went to fix the toilet pipes. Apparently he fixed them wrongly. His mom switched on the shower's hot water heater. Later, when Jiayu flushed the toilet. *spiiiishhhhhhhh* There's steam. The toilet was flushed with HOT WATER. He thought it was acid and ran to tell his father. Father came, realised it was a pipe problem and told him to take a shower first. He went to take a shower. Dumb enough to just turn the tap on at full blast, without even testing to see if its at the right temperature. Freezing cold water. LOL. I was laughing like mad lah. xDDD
THANK YOU HANNAH FOR THE SONG!!! YOU ROCK MORE THAN LIMESTONE!!! xDD
Had Chinese Tuition, then lunch.
Boring homework of the weekend:
Art
Write Geography notes
Write History notes on proper paper, and make it neater too.

My green bean plant! (with Ms Chan's green beans) xD

Turtles! [chocolate filled with caramel and nuts] Aunty Saan brings them from Canada every Christmas. =D
Grapes! Sweet and sour-ish taste.
